Useful numbers.
Honest limitations.

Every contribution helps build a clearer picture of pay in quantity surveying.

What does the benchmark measure?

Gross annual base salary. We use the midpoint of each closed salary band, then calculate the median and the 25th–75th percentile range. Open-ended bands are shown in the index but excluded from these calculations. No currency conversion is applied.

How are comparisons selected?

Your selected role, country, currency, location, experience, employer type and submission period define the sample. At least 10 matching submissions are needed for a personal result. Broadening a comparison requires your choice; it never mixes countries, currencies or roles.

How reliable is the sample?

These are self-reported submissions reviewed before publication, not verified payslips or a representative market survey. Exact duplicate records are excluded from calculations. Dates show when an entry was submitted, not when pay was independently checked. Unknown currencies and invalid dates are excluded from personal benchmarks.

What about benefits and pensions?

Benefits are separate from base pay. Package estimates include only the supplied employer pension, allowance and bonus amounts; a missing value is unknown, not zero. A pension contribution percentage alone does not describe the value of a defined-benefit pension.
